I
am so excited to share a really fun and simple video tutorial with you today for Toe Flower Sandals. I have also included the written pattern.
These are so cute on those sweet little (sometimes dirty :) girly toes! They don't have a sole, they just loop around your ankle and toe. These are perfect in the summer for babies who aren't walking yet. They are fun for older kids too, since most kids run around outside without shoes anyway!! The video and written instructions are below!
-2 colors of Worsted Weight Yarn. I used 100% cotton for mine, but you can use any yarn that you would like :)
-Size H/5.00MM Hook
-Scissors
Abbreviations:
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
st: stitch
sl st: slip stitch
trc: triple crochet
You can make these custom to fit any age/size. The written instructions and video will tell you how to do this. If you can't try them on as you go because you are making them as a gift, see my shoe measurements chart. So, lets get started!!
Instructions (make 2):
Make a magic loop
Rnd 1: ch 1, 6 sc in the loop, join with a sl st, fasten off
Join with a sl st with your next color in any sc from the previous rnd.
Please Note: You can adjust the size of your Toe Flower Sandal in the rnd below by making your toe loop longer or shorter depending on how many chains you do. I am making mine for a 3 year old girl. Be sure to try it on as you are making it for a perfect fit.
Rnd 2: (ch 3, 2 trc, ch 3, sl st) all in the same stitch you just joined in, ch 10 (this will be your toe loop), sl st in the same st, [sl st in the next st, (ch 3, 2 trc, ch 3, sl st) all in the same stitch] repeat from [to] 2 more times, ch 25 (this will be your ankle loop, adjust this chain length to the size you are making), sl st in the same st, repeat from [to] 2 more times, fasten off.
You should have 6 flower petals, a toe loop, and an ankle loop. Weave in your loose ends, and you are finished!
Please let me know if you have questions, and watch the video tutorial if you need additional help. Enjoy your toe flower sandals!!
I have made several sandals like this but this pattern looks simple and really cute!!

will you make a tutorial of thong baby sandals please
ReplyDeleteThis may sound stupid, but how do you get it on the foot without the strap twisting?
ReplyDeleteI just slip it on, and then straighten the strap after I put it on. Hope this helps :)
DeleteThese look adorable. Im going to make them for my 1 year old baby girl! Thanks
