Summer Days Bracelet

I came up with this really cute bracelet idea last summer, and have since made quite a few of them for friends and family.  Everyone loves them!  Today I will be sharing the pattern with all of you.  Thank you so much for your support!

Summer Days  Bracelet

Abbreviations:

Ch: chain
Sc: single crochet
Sl st: slip stitch
St: stitch

 Materials Needed:

-Worsted Weight #4 Yarn: I used 100% cotton yarn.  You can buy this at Wal-Mart or at most craft stores.

-Crochet Hook Size: F, or whichever size that you prefer.

-Sharp  Needle for sewing the button on

-Size 7/8 wooden or plastic button

Notes:

-Gauge doesn’t matter for this pattern because you are making it custom for your size.  You can use any size crochet hook that you like.  If you want your stitches to be tighter, us a smaller hook, if you want them larger, use a larger hook.  I used an F size hook for mine.

-For a newborn bracelet, or for a different dainty look, use a small crochet hook and some crochet thread!!  You will have to use a much smaller button if you choose to do it this way.

-Crochet over your loose ends as you go along so you won’t have as many to weave in when you are done with your project.

Instructions:
First, measure around your wrist.

Next, with color A, chain enough chains until your chain measures the same as the measurement as your wrist.  I ended up chaining 22 for my 5.5” wrist.   **Make sure you chain an even number of chains**

Chain 7 more (this will be the button hole), sc in the 8th ch from the hook,

(ch 5, skip the next ch, sc in the next ch) repeat until you only have 1 ch left.  Your bracelet will start to roll into a circle.  This is normal, don’t worry, it will straighten out as you go along J

4 sc in the last ch (pull on the tail end gently to tighten it up)

Now working underneath your stitches, sc in the next st,

(ch 5, skip the next st, sc in the next st) repeat across until you reach the button hole, fasten off.

Turn your work to lay EXACTLY as pictured below with the button hole to the right and your project facing you. Join with a sl st with color B in the first ch 1 space as indicated by the arrow below:

(Ch 5, working behind your ch 5 spaces that you made with color A, sc in the next ch 1 space, ch 5, working in front of your ch 5 spaces that you made with color A, sc in the next ch 1 space) repeat across until you get to your 6 single crochets at the end,

Sc in the next st, 2 sc in each of next 4 sts, sc in next st, sc in the next ch 1 space as pictured below:
Please Note: This side of the bracelet needs to be a mirror image of the other side, so work in front of the loops you worked in front of on the other side, and work in back of the loops you worked in the back of on the other side.

(Ch 5, sc in the next ch 1 space) repeat across until you have single crocheted into the last ch 1 space, fasten off.

Sew your button onto your bracelet with a sharp needle and the same yarn you used to make your bracelet.  Weave in your loose ends, and you are done!!

Now, try it on and see how it looks!

Make a bunch of these in different colors to match your outfits!  Enjoy!

If anyone has any questions, go ahead and leave them in the comments below.  I would love it if you would share your pictures of your finished bracelets on facebook!

TUTORIAL: Doll Diaper plus Pattern!

This weekend I made diapers for my little girl's doll.  I probably made more than she needs, but it was so much fun to watch her face light up as I got each one of them finished!    I designed the pattern to fit her Bitty Baby Doll .  But, I also realize that some of you may have a different size doll....  So, I made the waistband adjustable.  It may not fit all of your dolls and stuffed animals, but this will make it more likely to. I wanted it to be a nice and tight fit so that we could fit the doll's pants over the diaper, and it worked out well!   Today I am excited to share the tutorial with you.    Here is what you will need: 1/4 yard or a fat quarter of cotton fabric.  Coordinating thread 1/2" sew in Velcro.  I have tried the stick on kind, and didn't like it.  It eventually comes off.  If you try to sew it on, it will gum up your needle and the needle will have to be replaced.  I highly recommend the sew in kind that is n

TUTORIAL: American Girl Crochet Hat

Lately, I have been having so much fun making my girls clothes for their dolls.  My latest project was these cute crochet hats.  They fit nice and tight, and I love the way they look on the dolls.  I am sharing the pattern with you today so that you can make a few for your dolls too! The yarn I used for this hat I purchased online from Fabric.com .  It is called Cotton Classic Yarn.  They have changed their website up a bit and I haven't been able to find it recently, so I am not sure if they are still selling it.  This is my favorite yarn for crocheting Doll hats, so I hope I can find some more in the future.  Materials Needed: DK weight yarn (#3) Crochet hook size: F  5/3.74 MM Click HERE for a list of abbreviations. Notes: -Gauge: 4 sts and 5 rows = 1" (2.5 cm) The gauge is for sc rows.  If your gauge is not right, go up or down a size crochet hook in order to get the right gauge.
